Collectively, the observations indicate that the overall warming of the Arctic system continued in 2007. There are some elements that are stabilizing or returning to climatological norms. These mixed tendencies illustrate the sensitivity and complexity of the Arctic System.

The Bachelor of Circumpolar Studies Program is once again enjoying another successful year. With registration at a maximum for the fall term, the 2007 academic year is looking very promising. 21 year old Victoria Rudakova is one of over 130 students currently pursuing BCS classes through online delivery.




The Government of Canada Program for IPY is now issuing a Call for Proposals inviting interested Canadian organizations to submit proposals for funding for training, communications and outreach projects in conjunction with International Polar Year.

ArcticStat, a socioeconomic circumpolar database covering thirty arctic regions in eight countries, is now available online.






The University of the Arctic Office of Undergraduate Studies, located in Saskatoon Canada, welcomes graduate student assistants Bonnie Leask and Georgia Gerontas to the team.

The final GoNorth meeting took place at Lulea Technical University, Lulea , Sweden from September17-19.
