Bonnie Leask is the new graduate student assistant with the UArtic's Office of Undergraduate Studies.  Bonnie is a member of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in Treaty Six territory.  Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Arts, Double Honours in Political Studies and Native Studies and is pursuing a Master's Degree in Political Studies at the University of Saskatchewan.
 
239,3103Prior to Bonnie's return to the academic sphere, she held a variety of positions, including Director of Communications at the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and Senior Constituency Advisor to Member of Parliament Gary Merasty, Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding in Northern Saskatchewan. Bonnie will be working with Professor Poelzer and is excited to be part of the University of Arctic.
 
Georgia Gerontas is also pursuing a Master's Degree in Political Studies at the University of Saskatchewan.  Prior to arriving in Saskatoon, Georgia took her undergrad in Political Science from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.
 
240,3108Throughout her undergrad Georgia was extensively involved in a numerous extra curricular activities at Simon Fraser.  She helped create the first Model United Nations at SFU and served as Undersecretary General for their first annual Simon Fraser Model United Nations Conference. In addition, she served as France’s Foreign Minister at the West Coast Model European Union at Washington State University in May 2007. 
 
In her spare time, Georgia enjoys running and has played soccer for most of her life.  She greatly enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.  She hopes to combine her love of travel with her interest in world development and humanitarian causes.
