"I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 in Norway, a trip
made possible by my school's funding. My main goal in going was to learn more about how the
Arctic is addressing important issues like sustainability, erosion, and emergency preparedness.
These topics are particularly relevant to my own research, which focuses on river erosion in Alaska.

At the congress, I presented a poster on my research, which highlighted the ongoing challenges of
erosion in Alaska's river systems. Presenting my work to an international audience was both
exciting and rewarding, and it gave me the chance to receive valuable feedback and exchange ideas
with experts in the field. This kind of engagement was one of the highlights of my trip.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was just how much research is happening in the Arctic across
a wide range of topics. I met so many researchers from different backgrounds, all working on
important issues, from climate change to sustainable development. It was eye-opening to see the
scope of research being done, and it gave me a lot of new ideas to think about.

On a personal level, this was also my first time visiting Norway, and the experience was
unforgettable. I really enjoyed learning about the culture and meeting new people. The trip gave me
a deeper appreciation for the global effort to tackle the complex challenges facing the Arctic.

Overall, attending the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 was an amazing experience. I learned a lot, made
great connections, and had the chance to share my research with a broader audience. This
experience will definitely help shape my future work in erosion and environmental sustainability."
