The internship offers the opportunity to apply and develop skills through concrete and varied communications tasks, and excellent opportunities for networking and internationalization through UArctic events.

For who?
The internship opportunity is open for enrolled students in the University of Lapland’s Master's Degree Programme in Tourism, Culture and International Management or orther relevant International Master's Degree Programmes.  Supervision and tutoring on the new techniques and skills will be provided by UArctic.

Where?

The intern is placed at the UArctic International Secretariat at the University of Lapland.

Successful candidates should have:

  • excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • good ICT and social media skills (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • experience in organizing and promoting events
  • eye for details and ability to manage event schedules
  • social skills for working in international and intercultural environment
  • skills in photography are considered as an asset
  • understanding and knowledge on Arctic issues
  • ability to work independently, under leadership and with multiple tasks

What are the planned tasks?

  • Assisting in conference/ seminar/ meeting arrangements and planning support (e.g., UArctic Congress 2024, UArctic fundraising events)
  • Writing news stories about events and activities in the Arctic
  • Maintaining UArctic’s social media feeds focusing on UArctic events

 

When? What? How?
The internship period at the UArctic international Secretariat is for 6 months (Jan 8 – June 30, 2024) and can also be done while studying as part-time work. Full time position equals 36,25 hours per week.

Monthly salary for the internship: 1,283€
