The Master’s programmes at the University of Akureyri are the first of their kind in the world and provide a unique focus on Polar Law. All the Polar Law subjects are taught in English, and new students to the programmes are accepted every other year. The application process to begin studies in 2015 is now open!

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), together with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), recently announced the start of the second edition of the IASC Fellowship Program. University of Alaska Fairbanks organizes a three-week field course on Arctic environmental change on 10-30 June 2015 in the Fairbanks area, focusing on the geology, permafrost, landforms, soils, vegetation and wildlife of boreal, alpine and Arctic environments. Registration begins on 23 February 2015.

Tyumen State Oil and Gas University's  rector made a speech ‘The role of human resources in development of the Arctic’ at the Tyumen region Academic meeting. The meeting of the region’s leading scientists was devoted to the Russian Science Day and addressed among other issues  development of the Arctic.
