The NICOP meetings are being held at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), in Fairbanks, Alaska. International Permafrost Conferences are held every five years under the auspices of the International Permafrost Association (IPA). The IPA was officially organized in 1983 during the Fourth International Conference on Permafrost.
