The conference is a joint development project between Finnmark University College, UArctic and the Norwegian Housing Bank.
 
It will feature plenary sessions by experts from several northern countries on topics such as the development of a sustainable vision for the Circumpolar World, women's contribution to community development in the North, and Indigenous and Regional Co-Management and Development. The conference will also present four parallel session: northern values and ways of life, higher education and research, creating attractive places in the North and northern governance and development.
 
UArctic President Lars Kullerud will be part of a panel debate, and the UArctic Thematic Network on Northern Governance Development is also scheduled to hold a workshop.
