Karla replaced Diana Thomson when the IAO moved to Northlands College in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, Canada earlier this month.  While Karla is new to this position, she was already a member of the UArctic family, having instructed BCS 100 for the past three academic years. 
 
Upon completing a Master’s of Arts in Political Science from the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon, Canada) in 2004, with a focus on co-operative development in Northern Saskatchewan, she returned home to La Ronge.  Karla is excited to be a part of the next stage of growth for UArctic and looks forward to working with member institutions to develop and enhance students’ ability to study in the north and about northern topics.
