A fellowship at AIAS offers researchers a unique opportunity to pursue their own research project in an inspiring international and multidisciplinary environment. The AIAS-COFUND II Programme has a distinct focus on career development for especially young talented researchers, offering both academic mentorship, career development in transferable skills and opportunities to organize large-scale multidisciplinary and international conferences. The Programme seeks to enhance the fellows’ genuine understanding of the methodologies and approaches of other scientific disciplines at the highest level, thus making cross-disciplinary inspiration and initiatives possible.

The AIAS-COFUND II Fellowship Programme
Applicants can choose their research topic freely within all academic areas. The duration of a fellow-ship varies from 6 up to 36 months, with commencement dates either on 1 October 2018 or 1 February 2019. Preferred time of commencement can be stated. A fellowship includes funding for travel, reasonable research expenses and a competitive salary.

The programme encompasses two types of fellowships:
-AIAS-COFUND Junior Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers with a career of 2-10 years. Duration from 12- 36 months.
-AIAS-COFUND Senior Fellowships for researchers with a career of +10 years. Duration from 6-18 months.
Please note: PhD training is not included in the calculation of experience.

Who can apply?
The target group of the programme is talented researchers with a PhD and a minimum of two years of fulltime postdoctoral research experience at the time of the application deadline. Applicants must comply with the following mobility demand:

Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activities (work etc.) for more than 12 months in Denmark in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline. Time spent as part of a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention, compulsory national ser-vice and/or short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.
